Hello! My name is Amber. I’m a Physician Assistant, adult educator, writer, speaker, and co-founder of Luminary’s mind-body medicine retreats. I believe it’s possible to take wonderful care of ourselves, do amazing work in the world, and have a ridiculous amount of fun doing it.
As a PA specializing in integrative medicine I draw upon my medical school training, my experience as a family medicine and emergency room provider, and ongoing education in an array of holistic and nutritional approaches to health. I focus on safe, effective, natural options whenever possible and offer the tools you need to truly thrive in your body.
As an educator I bring over a decade in adult education to craft deeply impactful experiences.
As a yoga teacher I integrate the beauty of mindful movement and self inquiry into all my offerings.
As an explorer I led an all-female National Geographic supported expedition down one of the longest free flowing rivers left on our planet. And I harness that leadership experience to help you become a powerful leader in your own life.
As a fellow student I am learning and growing right along side you.
I am a recovering To-Do list junkie. And once got a crowd of 350 unsuspecting people to dance with me. I think people re-enacting their childhood photos is one of the funniest things on the planet. If reincarnation is real, I was probably a performer on the early days of Soul Train.
My name is Cara, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, wellness educator, yoga teacher and co-founder of Luminary’s mind-body medicine retreats. I have an amazing job where I get to help others pursue a meaningful life through rewarding connection with themselves, thriving relationships with others, and a clear sense of purpose and personal value. I am all about helping you create an authentic, fulfilled, and connected life.
As a counselor, I draw upon a decade of experience working in private practice, community mental health, and intensive outpatient facilities. I bring compassion and precision to help you move through difficult life experiences and limiting beliefs.
As an educator, I can help you design a life of personal fulfillment and lasting change. I’m passionate about helping you learn not only what to do, but how to do it with more skill and ease.
As a facilitator, I cultivate transformational experiences using the best collection of research and resources at our disposal.
As a yoga teacher, I can support a deeper connection with your body to promote healing and wellbeing.
As a woman and wife, I can relate to what this messy and incredible experience of being human is all about.
My guilty pleasure is watching an episode of my latest reality tv interest while my hubby rolls his eyes in the background. I LOVE planning dinners and home chefing it up. I recently walked over 500 miles across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. I imagine my inner child would love to hang out with this little diva.
The Dalai Lama said, “The world will be saved by the western woman.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Western women have unlimited potential due to our abundant access to education and resources, and a desire for more connection, empathy, and understanding to influence our world. The only thing stopping us is often deep within ourselves. Challenges in our health, wellbeing, relationships, and confidence impede our ability to make real and lasting change in ourselves, our family, and in our communities.
We created Luminary retreats and courses to help the incredible women we work with grow into their most amazing lives, fulfill their potential, and experience profound contentment. We empower women to better offer their unique contribution to the world by understanding how to take better care of themselves with the highest quality health care information available, and with a handful of powerful personal development tools.
